DevOps Engineer Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot RDS and Elastic Search issues, including high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning. Also be able to identify problematic SQL queries is a big plus.
• Troubleshoot lambda execution issues
• Setup and manage 3rd party tools in a secure fashion, e.g., Dynatrace or New relic
• Experience in Python and bash scripting/development to write internal tooling applications supporting our development teams
• Build, deploy, and support applications alongside our engineering teams which deliver robust, scalable, and high performing products for internal and external users
• Manage CI/CD pipelines across multiple deployment tools
• Deploy resources using infrastructure as code
• Assist engineering teams in utilizing DevOps best practices for build and release processes
• Support engineering teams, ensuring architectural best practices are being utilized within our cloud provider
• Document policies and processes to be used across the organization
• Participate in follow the sun/on-call rotation, handling alerts and escalating as necessary

DevOps Engineer Skills/Requirements

• Experience with Linux based OS hosting customer facing applications
• Experience with deploying resources using Terraform and Terraform cloud
• Knowledge of a scripting language, such as Bash, Python, Perl, or Ruby
• Experience working in a multi-account AWS environment as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer, particularly with:
  • EC2, including working with Autoscaling groups
  • ECS/EKS and ECR
